2 cups Solomon's Continental Flour
½ cup sugar
150g honey
½ teaspoon Bi-Carbonate Soda
1 egg
50g almonds
1 teaspoon cinnamon & cloves


Beat egg and sugar together until light.
Mix in the honey cinnamon, cloves, and soda.
10 minutes. Brown 1 or 2 lumps of sugar in a small saucepan, add 1½ to 2 tablespoons of water and bring to boil. Add this to batter together with the honey to make the batter brown.
Pour into a buttered baking pan that has been dusted with flour. Smooth the top and sprinkle with shredded almonds. Bake in a warm oven for 15 to 20 minutes.
